Belle is one of the most beautiful of the Disney Princess characters and first appeared in the Disney animated feature film 'Beauty and the Beast' that premiered on November 13, 1991.
Like many of Disney's fairy tales, the story of Beauty and the Beast was originally based on the traditional fairy tale titled 'Beauty and the Beast' by the French author Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and later abridged and republished by French author Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. The story of Beauty and the Beast is centered on a beautiful woman that is kept in a castle by a monstrous beast.

Belle is a true beauty, she is sweet natured and intelligent and has long brown hair and brown eyes. She wears a sparkly yellow ballroom gown and often is shown holding the rose that is the symbol of love throughout the film. Belle remains a favorite Disney Princess that little girls love.
