Disney Character Costumes for Halloween

Disney has some of the best characters around- not only the new ones that are showing up in your children's lives now but the enduring and endearing classics that you remember as a child. From Pooh Bear and all of his friends to Hannah Montana and everything in between, Disney's characters are fun to watch and they are even more fun to dress up as. Halloween may come only once a year, but a really great Disney Halloween Costume can be worn for dress up fun throughout the year as well.

The best things about Disney Halloween Costumes are the simple fact that you can find one for everybody, of every age. Boys, girls, men and women can find their favorites in a wide range of prices as well. Keep in mind that the better made costumes can be stored and worn over and over (for adults) or can be used as dress up unless there are smaller children to hand them down to. It is a smart mother who keeps a collection of costumes at the ready not only for Halloween but for rainy or snowy days of utter boredom.

Toddlers are adorable in furry and soft, pajama like costumes featuring the most adorable of characters. Pooh Bear, Tigger, Piglet and others are especially sweet when worn by wobbly toddlers. Older children might like to dress as Buzz Lightyear or Woody from a Toy Story or go retro with characters from Peter Pan. Pre-teens will be thrilled to dress as their favorite, Hannah Montana, of course.

No matter which costume choice you and your children are interested in, you can find or make the right one. Do not forget the accessories because after all, Cinderella without her glass slippers is just a dame in a blue dress and Pooh without his honey pot is just misplaced wildlife.

Disney Character Meet and Greets

The Walt Disney World Resort is a favorite destination spot for many travelers, and with good reason. There is an abundance of things to see and do for children and adults alike. From fast paced thrill rides to 3-D movie attractions, to character meet and greets, you may not be able to fit everything into one trip!

Children especially love to meet the Disney characters. At one of the many character greeting spots located throughout Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, Disney guests can pose for pictures with their favorite characters. Kids will love getting a hug from Mickey himself as well as having their autograph books signed.

So where are the best spots to meet those characters? At the Magic Kingdom resort you'll find plenty of characters and princesses at Mickey's Toontown Hall of Fame Tent. While visiting Epcot try the Character Spot and enjoy time with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and other beloved characters. At Disney's Hollywood Studios you might try the character meet and greet spot inside the Animation Tour building which usually features characters from the latest Disney animated features. Also, along nearby Mickey Avenue, there are character greeting stations for your convenience. One of the best places to see characters at Animal Kingdom is in Camp Minnie-Mickey.

Okay, so we all love those Disney Characters. But how many can you name from memory? Even the biggest Disney fans have trouble naming them all. You can have fun planning for your trip to the World by visiting various websites and learning about your favorite characters or possibly discover a new character that you're not so familiar with. Maybe you'll learn some interesting Disney facts about the characters that you could share with your family while on vacation. Won't they be impressed!

Well, have fun planning for your next trip to Walt Disney World and remember to schedule some down time into your itinerary to get the most enjoyment of your time there.

Disney Character Dining - Where to Dine With the Disney Princesses at Walt Disney World

Character meals are some of the most popular activities at Disney World. There are opportunities to eat with Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh, but I think you will find that the Disney Princess character meals are the most popular of all. Many little girls, and sometimes even grown-up ones like myself, love the princesses, so what could be better than joining Snow White, Cinderella or Aurora for breakfast?

There are currently two restaurants that serve breakfast and lunch where the Disney Princesses come to meet everyone at each meal. The most popular, Cinderella's Royal Table, is located inside Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom. Breakfast is the most popular meal here and thus the most difficult place to get a reservation.

DISNEY

So if you want to take your own princesses to Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast, you will need to plan ahead, 90 days ahead to be exact. Exactly 90 days before you want to eat at Cinderella's Table, you must be on the phone to Disney's Dining line, (407) WDW-DINE, to make a reservation. I recommend that you start dialing just before their lines open, which is at 7 a.m. eastern time

If you don't manage to get the breakfast reservation right when you call, I would go ahead and book a lunch reservation if one is available. Chances are, you may never get that breakfast reservation if you didn't get it when you called exactly 90 days out.

Now I totally understand why Cinderella's Royal Table is so popular. It's in the most popular park, the Magic Kingdom, and it is in the castle. But if you want to avoid some of the frustration of trying to book a reservation there, I think there's a wonderful alternative to consider. The Akershus restaurant in Epcot also has Disney Princess character meals.

Located in the Norway pavilion, Akershus features Princess Storybook Dining in their Royal Banquet Hall, with its great castle atmosphere. You can make reservations for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the princesses are there for all three settings. Meals are served family-style and the Princesses will wander about the room greeting and spending time with each party.

For some park guests, Akershus is their first choice for dining with the Disney princesses. Many guests who have enjoyed the princess experience at both restaurants are more likely to return to Akershus. Cinderella's can be a bit over-hyped, and for some diners, it tends to feel a bit rushed. You will probably have a better character experience at Akershus. Plus you can try out some special Norwegian dishes at lunch or dinner. For picky eaters, you might want to stick with breakfast, which is when they serve American cuisine.

There is one other thing to keep in mind if you are trying to decide between the two restaurants. If you are going to use the Disney dining plan, Cinderella's Table requires two table service meals and Akershus only requires one. So you'll save a fair bit of money dining with the Princesses in Norway.
