A Kid Friendly Place To Play Free Disney Games

Keeping Kids Safe Online Even though we live in a highly advanced society, we still need to be able to provide our kids with a safe haven to relax and have fun. Trying to find places online we feel comfortable with can be exhausting since each website has to be searched for and then reviewed in order to make sure it truly is geared to a "G" rated audience.

The Search Is On After spending countless hours searching through kids party favors, kids toys, kids names, kids issues, etc, parents may find a handful of websites that meet their tough standards, but may not pass the 'two thumbs up' rules by the kids - even if they're really great websites, kids might not be so enthusiastic about butterfly farms, prehistoric dinosaurs, and images of the solar system after about 15 minutes.

DISNEY

Kid Games And Interactive Fun Parents need a website that they know will entertain kids and still allow them to develop the skills they need to feel confident about using the computer keyboard and mouse, while at the same time, comfortable enough to navigate drop-down menus, nav bars, and call to action buttons on their own. The internet is a great place to build confidence for children of all ages and regular access allows them the opportunity to interact and grow with modern technology at their own pace.

Video Creates A Whole New World Thanks to YouTube and Google, almost every premium website offers a choice of video movies to their web visitors. The use of Multimedia is an engaging way to entertain and educate users about their current products, services, or news item, but for kids... something with a little bit more "oomph" is needed. Something a little bit more magical.

Vivid Lights, Color and Video Games You will know immediately when you have found a website that will get the kids stamp of approval, because it will make you, the parent, a little more curious about a brightly colored link and you will want to know if you click it, what will happen next? A perfect example of this is from the online Disney Game designed from the movie "Ratatouille" where you match wits against the computer to play a memory game.

Free Stuff The Kids Will Love Best of all, parents can let the kids play online games as long as they want to without having to pay a dime. Even the Download games are free for 30 minutes, so the kids will know instantly if it's too hard, or if they like the game and may want it as a birthday gift, etc. Most importantly, you as the parent have provided your child a fun, safe and educational place to be while online.

Disney Villains - An Integral Part Of The Disney Culture!

The people at Walt Disney surely know how to entertain you and there are a number of ways they accomplish this. They have their own movies in which not only do they expose you to all the colors the Disney world has to offer, but they are also making live action movies which have other Disney themes in them. Moreover, Disneyland resorts are a great attraction for anybody. Finally, they even have their own Disney Cruise vacations where one can go with one's family and enjoy the cruise along with their favorite Disney attractions. Finally they have their toys and memorabilia that are sold in great quantities all around the world.

The Disney brand has been around for a long time. The first animated feature film, Snow White, was made in the 1930s and was a pioneer as far as animated movies were concerned. Its tradition was followed by many Disney movies in which many Disney princesses were made popular. Examples are those of Ariel in the cartoon The Little Mermaid, Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and so on. Even though the various Disney movies that are made are all different in which they have their own story lines, there are some things that are highly similar in all of these movies. For example, almost all these movies have sidekicks associated with them which are usually cute little creatures. For example in the movie Beauty and the Beast, there were actually a lot of these characters but the clock guy and the candle guy were the actual ones. Then we come to the movie Aladdin, in which the character was the Abu monkey which was the pet of Aladdin and that little parrot which was the pet of Jaffar. Coming to the Lion King, we know the role Timon and Pumba played in the movie. Finally in the movie The Little Mermaid, we all know the role played by that chubby fish which used to stay alongside Ariel.

DISNEY

Also all these movies have heinous Disney villains! Thus we find that there are striking trends that can be found in these movies that are similar. Also, a more obvious trend in these movies is that there is always a heinous villain that is determined to destroy the main protagonist. These simple movies do not show any internal conflict of character in the cartoons and there is least ambiguity which makes these characters the least human. After all these movies are all for kids.

Disney Villains - An Integral Part Of The Disney Culture!

Almost all of these films contain a small sidekick and heinous Disney villains. Thus the movies, even though different, are similar in many ways. Many of these characters can be experienced almost first hand on the many Disney cruise vacations.

Walt Disney - The Person Behind the Famous Mickey Mouse

If I ask you about Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, I am sure you know them very well. Yes, they are Disney characters. But who are Walt Disney actually? How could he create a lot of characters that are very famous among children and even adult? This article is going to tell you some little pieces of his life.

disney movies

His full name is Walter Elias Disney, born in Chicago Illinois in December 5, 1901. Disney is indeed a legend in 20th century entertainment. His wonderful imagination and creativity in creating characters has touching emotion and heart of many people. Since he was a kid, he was very interested to arts and drawing.

DISNEY

Disney was student of McKinley High School, Chicago. He loved drawing and learning photography, therefore he also learned drawing in Academy of Fine Arts. Compared with other assignments, he was very good in drawing animal and nature. He even had made miniature of train with its railways. He was a fan of Charlie Chaplin. Therefore, he also learned acting when his family moved to Kansas.

Three years after he married Lillian Bounds in 1925, he created the character of Mickey Mouse. From this starting point, he was continuously creating other characters and making innovation in entertainment world. There were a large number of characters of animation movies had been created by Disney, and those characters and movies were accepted by American and almost the entire people in the world.

In 1955, he transformed his animation characters into an amusement park called Disneyland. It cost 17 million dollars and it reached its success to be the biggest amusement park in the world.

As a Pioneer and innovator in entertainment, especially in animation, Disney has been received more than 950 awards, including 48 from Academy Awards and 7 from Emmy Awards. Not to mention some titles given by some universities such as Harvard University, Yale University, California University, and also UCLA. Walt Disney World Ticket Prices

To access the theme parks you will need tickets. These tickets are available from authorized resellers only. Please take note that no tickets are transferable, and no tickets can be bought on eBay as they are locked to one's fingerprints so there is no way someone can sell you theirs ever. Please be very aware of this.

disney princess tv

Ticket prices are usually standard across all authorized reseller. The best place to buy your Disney World ticket would be online. These vendors seem to always have a running special on during low season. They usually offer pay for three days and get two days free. I suggest you read each and every single ticket that you want to purchase and make sure that you do not purchase something that you do not want as this could jeopardize your entry into Disney World. For example, thinking you have a water park ticket when you don't, but you thought that you read that somewhere online. Before purchasing a ticket make sure you know what you want to purchase as once you have purchased the ticket refunds are not allowed. Many online vendors do not include tax on their selling price on the website, thus creating the perception that tickets are cheaper at a specific website. Please be aware of this and always compare apples and apples.

DISNEY

Base tickets, or Magic your Way tickets are entry-level tickets that you need to access any of the four theme parks. There are one-day tickets for adults in the ages of 10 and up costing .88 and for children aged 3 to 9 ticket prices are .10. The longer you stay, the less you pay per day, meaning if you take a seven-day ticket it works out a lot cheaper per day than it would to take a single day ticket.

The hopper option ticket is an add-on to your base ticket or Magic your Way ticket. This ticket add-on enables you to jump in-between being parks on the same day. This is a great benefit to those who want to see more than one theme park on a specific day. This costs .25 over and above your ticket, regardless of your age which could be very expensive if it turns out to be unnecessarily bought. So please make sure you really want this, before buying this ticket.

Water park fun and more tickets gives you access to the four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studio and Disney's Animal Kingdom) allowing access to one park per day. You also get the use of Walt Disney World transportation plus a choice of the five-park options for the same amount of days. This means one admission to Typhoon Lagoon, one admission to Blizzard Beach, one admission to Disney Wide World of Sports Complex, one admission to Disney Quest and Disney Oak Trail Golf Course. These ticket prices are .25 for all tickets regardless of age.

A non-expiration ticket purchased together with your Magic your Way ticket is a system that you can bank your days meaning any unused days will never expire. This option is obviously only available for multi-day tickets. The price for a three-day ticket is 0 for the ages of 10 and up, and 5 for the ages of 3 to 9. This is a very good option to take as it does not cost you a lot of extra money and you can always use the ticket.

The above-mentioned tickets are all of your commonly used tickets that are available to you, but please do remember that once you have chosen your tickets you cannot change or request a refund for them. Hope to see you soon Disney World.

The Top 10 Ways to Get the Cheapest Disney Tickets

Getting the cheapest Disney tickets is not an impossible task. There are several ways to save money on a Disney vacation, and discount Disney theme park tickets is one of the ways you can save. But is it really better to buy cheap Walt Disney World tickets, or cheap Disneyland tickets from anyone else but Disney? And where do you find discounted tickets?

disney costumes

Here are the top 10 ways to get the cheapest Disney tickets:

DISNEY

Visit off-season. The off-season or "value" season is the most affordable time to purchase discount Disney theme park tickets. The value season for the Disneyland Resort and Disney World is around September. You'll save on Disney Park Tickets, and often, Disney offers promotions helping you save even more on things like dining, accommodations, and entertainment.

Look for Disney specials. Disney does offer special discounts on tickets, rooms, and packages. Research special offers online or ask your travel agent to look into current ticket-only specials.

Check out ticket discounters. This one is a bit tricky because not all ticket discounters are legitimate. Research your options and check out recommendations from people "in the know." The cheapest Disney tickets may even include an extra day for no extra cost.

Find out about membership discounts. Check with your automobile club, your warehouse membership club (like Costco), and associations you may belong to for Disney park ticket discounts. Be sure to compare the cost of these tickets to main gate prices, Disney specials, and online ticket discounters.

Find out about military discounts. Disney offers special discounts for members of the military. Those who are on active duty, are retired, and military spouses are eligible to these discounts.

Plan to stay longer. When you purchase multi-day Disney theme park tickets, the price goes down. Depending on the length of your stay, you may end up paying less than half the cost of full-price admission.

Purchase admission at your local grocery store. The savings will not come from a discounted admission price, but the rewards you get. Some stores offer cash-back on store purchases when consumers use their rewards card.

Research resident offers. Local residents are typically offered discounts on Disney theme park tickets and annual passes.

Learn more about student and employee discounts. If you're a student, check to see your school offers discounts on Disney park tickets. Same goes for corporate and government employees.

Purchase an annual passport. Research the cost of an annual pass and compare that to the number of times you can visit the Disney theme park of your choice. The more you can visit, the more you'll save. Local residents will also get a discount on annual passes. And annual passholders receive discounts on certain purchases in the parks.

These 10 tips for finding the cheapest Disney tickets are just the beginning. There are other ways to save and plan affordable Disney family vacations. Now that you know how to get your tickets and where to find them, start planning that vacation! You deserve it.

The Disney Princess Mania: Has Disney Taken It Too Far?

Whenever I take my two young daughters shopping, we are bombarded with Disney Princesses around every corner we turn. You can't even go to the grocery store without running into those lovely beauties, even in the checkout line. You name the item, Disney has found a way to license it with their princess brand. Of course you can find a large selection of Disney brand princess dresses and dolls at most toy stores. Now this makes sense. But what about princess mechanical pencils? Or princess ear muffs? Has Disney gone too far?

disney princess dress up

Most little girls can name all the Disney princesses by the time they turn three, even before they can count to 20 or name their colors. I'm sure you've heard of them... Cinderella, Belle from Beauty & the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty. These three beauties you see together in most Disney Princess photo ops. Snow White, the Little Mermaid Ariel and Tiana from the Princess and the Frog, rotate in and out of the Disney lineup. I guess they are the second class princesses.

DISNEY

Throughout my childhood and early adulthood, I associated the Disney brand with very high quality products. They know how to do it right when it comes to their amusement parks and movies. You just can't beat those Disney experiences. Back 30 years ago, Disney licensed products were much more difficult to come by, and a trip to Disneyland meant coming home with a bag full of wonderful merchandise. What a special treat! These days, a trip to any "dollar store" can result in a bag full of Disney merchandise. How does that affect your Disney experience?

You can now purchase a wide range of Disney Princess merchandise to use from cradle to grave. It is not limited to just princess dresses and dolls for young girls anymore. Literally, you can start off your little bambino with Disney Princess burp cloths and bibs. And as your little one ages, she can purchase Disney pill boxes for those later years of her life. I searched in vain to find a Disney cremation urn...no such luck. I was glad to see that they've drawn the line there.

This Disney Princess mania had me searching the web to find the 10 most ridiculous Disney Princess items available. OK, so here we go:

10. Berry bliss lotion
9. Jumbo singing foil balloon
8. Tissues
7. Flavored lip balm
6. Document holder
5. Lanyard
4. Clipboard
3. Snuggies® - Really? Yep!
2. White household glue
1. Beauty & the Beast Eau de toilette for women

We want to hear from you. Do you think that Disney Princess licensed products for just about everything you can buy helps or hurts the Disney brand? Also, what are the most ridiculous Disney products that you can find that are branded with their lovely princesses?

The writer of this article has no affiliation whatsoever with Disney or any of the Disney branded products.

The Tombstones and Creepy Old Crypts of Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

Dear Lou...

We just love the Haunted Mansion! Every time we go, we just love looking at the graves in front of the entrance, and we just noticed the mausoleum at the exit. Were they always there (I don't remember the mausoleum). And are the names on the graves of real people or just made-up?

DISNEY ENTERPRISE

OK, first things first. I love the Haunted Mansion as well! To me, there is nothing else quite like it in any park in WDW. The nostalgia, the effects... it's great.

Now, on to the questions (posed to me by someone during a recent trip to WDW, but asked of me more than once).

The mausloeum at the end of the attraction was always there, but may be overlooked by people who are still shaking, laughing, or running as they exit the Haunted Mansion. As far as the tombstones, they have always been there... and always will be, I believe.

The Walt Disney World Haunted Mansion

The tombstones at the entrance to the Dutch Gothic home of the Graceys are there not just for show, but are a silent, standing tribute to many of Walt Disney World's (and especially the Haunted Mansion's) contributors. As is often done in attractions throughout the parks, Imagineers honor those men and women who have helped create some of the true magic of WDW. Sometimes they are hidden, while other times, as here, they are more obvious.

After you pass through the menacing wrought-iron gates surrounding the Haunted Mansion, you will encounter the home's cemetery, (conveniently located right outside the entrance). Here you will find a number of witty headstones with epitaphs (written by Disney Legend Xavier Atencio), not to the "dearly departed", but in tribute to the many Imagineers who helped develop the Haunted Mansion.

Here is a list of the tombstone inscriptions and the Imagineers who inspired them:

Requiescat

Francis Xavier,

no time off for

good behavior

R.I.P.

Legendary Imagineer Francis Xavier "X" Atencio helped develop the Haunted Mansion story line, wrote the theme song's lyrics, and helped come up with the tombstone inscriptions.

Dear departed

Brother Dave,

he chased a bear

into a cave

This stone was named after Dave Burkhart, who was the model builder for the Haunted Mansion .

At peaceful rest

lies Brother Claude,

planted here

beneath this sod

Claude Coats was the Imagineer who came up with the layout of the OmniMover ride track for the Haunted Mansion, as well as numerous concept sketches

Some of the "dearly departed"

In memory of

our patriarch,

dear departed

Grandpa Marc

Marc Davis, a legendary designer and artist for Disney, as responsible for almost all of the concept art for the Haunted Mansion, including many of the humorous characters and scenes.

Master Gracey

laid to rest,

no mourning please

at his request

Farewell

Yale Gracey was responsible for many of the special effects seen in the Haunted Mansion , including the stretching portraits and the séance room, as well as for a number of attractions throughout Walt Disney World.

Rest in peace

Cousin Huet,

we all know

you didn't do it

Cliff Huet was an architect and lead interior designer.

Here lies

good old Fred,

a great big rock

fell on his head

R.I.P.

This inscription is a tribute to Disney Legend Fred Joerger, an art director that created numerous plaster effects for the Haunted Mansion. He is also honored with his name on a window above Main Street, USA .

Here lies a man

named Martin,

the lights went out

on this old Spartan

Bud Martin was the director of the Imagineering special effects department.

R.I.P.

In memoriam

Uncle Myall,

here you'll lie

for quite a while

Chuck Myall was a designer at WED Enterprises who aided in the overall planning of the Magic Kingdom .

Wathel R. Bender,

he rode to glory

on a fender

Peaceful rest

An innovator in the area of Audio-Animatronics, Wathel Rogers also helped program many of the figures in the Haunted Mansion

R.I.P.

Mister Sewell,

the victim of

a dirty duel

Peaceful rest

Bob Sewell was one of the head modelers at WED Enterprises

Good friend Gordon,

now you've crossed

the River Jordan

Gordon Williams designed much of the sound effects for the Mansion and assisted with the Audio-Animatronics programming

Dear sweet Leota,

beloved by all

In regions beyond now,

but having a ball

The most recent addition to the "family plot", how could we forget "little" Leota Toombs? She was an artist at WED whose face was used as the model for the head in the crystal ball for the seance scene, and so the character was named "Madame Leota" in her honor. Keep your "eyes" on the headstone for a little surprise - it opens its eyes every so often to see who's coming over, then closes them again in silent vigilance.

As you exit the Haunted Mansion, you will also find a crypt on the left hand side. The names found on the two crypts (with their tongue-in-cheek pronunciations in parentheses) are:

Asher T. Ashes (ashes to ashes)

Wee G. Bord (ouija board)

I. Trudy Dew (I truly do)

Dustin T. Dust (dust to dust)

Manny Festation (manifestation)

Metta Fisiks (metaphysics)

Pearl E. Gates (pearly gates)

Rusty Gates (rusty gates)

Hail N. Harty (hail and hearty)

C.U. Later (see you later)

Hal Lucinashun (hallucination)

Rustin Peese (rest in peace)

I.M. Ready (I am ready)

Hap A. Rition (apparition)

I. Emma Spook (I am a spook)

Paul Tergyst (poltergeist)

M.T. Tomb (empty tomb)

Love U. Trudy (love you truly)

Clare Voince (clairvoyance)

Bea Witch (be a witch)

In Spiritual Repose...

In Spiritual Repose...

Lastly, there is poor Bluebeard's final resting place. Maybe he was a good pirate, but he was not the luckiest guy when it comes to picking the ladies, it seems...

The Disney Revival

There's a few whispers among Disney fans that a second renaissance is on its way. What was seen in the 1980's with the rise in popularity for their animated films, after a troubled period for the studio, can be seen happening again today. Many Disney fans have dubbed this period the Disney Revival.

disney movies

What does this mean and how did it happen before? After Walt Disney's death in the late 1960's, the studio suffered a loss of leadership and subsequently the quality of movies began to fall. There was tension with the employees and many of them left the company, including Don Bluth, a well-respected animator and director who moved on to create his own film production studio with other ex-Disney animators.

DISNEY

This was rubbing salt into the wounds of Disney's continued line of lacklustre productions which paled in comparison to their classics such as Snow White and Bambi. Moreover, their movies could not compete with Don Bluth's productions. There needed to be a change in management and leadership which came in the form of Michael Eisner, becoming Disney's CEO in 1984.

The formula for Disney movies was about to change with the release of The Little Mermaid in 1988. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken worked on the music for the movie which incorporated a Broadway style, while the style of the animation changed. This marked the start of the Disney Renaissance.

The Little Mermaid was a critical and commercial success and Disney had found a winning formula for popular animated films, going on to produce memorable films such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King.

This renaissance era came to an end with the release of Tarzan in 1999. Disney would now face new competition from young studios such as Pixar and Dreamworks, which produced CG animated films such as Toy Story and Shrek. These films were like nothing anyone had seen before and it was clear that as we entered a new century, animation style was changing.

The public's taste was beginning to change and Disney studios began to recognise this. With the exception of the Princess and the Frog, which was a traditional hand drawn animation, Disney released a series of CG animated films including Chicken Little, Bolt and the more recent Tangled.

This wasn't the main reason for the Disney Revival however. What set Disney out from other studios was its ability to tell a classic fairy-tale combined with a Broadway musical style score. This was something that had been forgotten in the late 90's and earlier 2000's, but has now been realised once again.

The critically acclaimed releases of The Princess and the Frog and Tangled have begun rumours amongst many Disney fanatics that a second renaissance is here as we see the return of princesses, princes, villains and catchy tunes. It's early to conclude yet, but if Disney continue to release critically acclaimed films which revert back to their signature formula, we could well indeed see a second renaissance.

Disney Cruises - Tips For Choosing the Best One

Watching a scene in a movie where people are enjoying a luxury cruise makes one want to get on the same ship. Spacious decks lined up with tourists, women on their swimming attire and cocktails by the pool, elegant parties in the main hall - everything seems like very relaxing and a lot of fun. Double or triple that excitement with Disney cruises and one will probably book that luxurious holiday with the whole family immediately.

disney

Foremost is to select the Disney cruise liner you want to embark on. There is a Disney Wonder that takes one to Nassau in the Bahamas. The cruise may last for 3 or 4 days with an appetizing stay at the Walt Disney World Resort just before the sail. Meanwhile, the Disney Magic Cruise package offers a 7-night trip to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, St. Croix, Tortola as well as to the private Disney island Castaway Cay. Both Disney Cruise liners are 83,000-ton vessels with 875 staterooms.

DISNEY

On board a Disney Cruise ship, one will marvel at the large staterooms and beautifully styled dining areas. The interior design for the Disney Wonder is Art Nouveau while the Disney Magic is styled with Art Deco. Meanwhile, there are secret porthole rooms that are nice options if you intend to make it an enjoyable but thrifty voyage.

A Disney cruise is not a Disney without fun-filled activities meant for children as well as adults. There are designated areas in the ship where adults can enjoy a Vista Spa or doing some partying at the nightclubs. On the other hand, well-arranged activities have been prepared for children to engage in through the Oceaneer Club and Lab.

Then again, the Studio Sea, which is placed in the mid-ship of deck 4 of the Disney liner, is a common ground for adults and children alike. The family can sing their hearts out and enjoy family karaoke, join in friendly dance competitions, or laugh together in a comedy stint. Of course, the famous Disney live or animated movies can be viewed at the Buena Vista movie house. In a stateroom, one can watch other movies as well.

If you are in for some real-life action, then the Walt Disney Theater could be the right entertainment for you. Different Broadway productions and variety shows are featured on both Disney liners including Toy Story Musical and Disney Dreams. For those who want to maintain their active fitness lifestyle while on a cruise, Disney liners have basketball courts, shuffleboards, ping-pong tables, and jogging areas.

In its stately entirety, a Disney cruise houses Mickey's Pool, Goofy's Family Pool, and the Quiet Cove pool on deck 9. The Mickey Pool is specially set up for the younger kids and is shaped in the popular Mickey contour. There is also a Mickey's hand-shaped slide, fountains, and splash areas for the children to indulge in. In the meantime, the Goofy Pool is more of a family pool where there are two big tubs for mommy and daddy to get immersed in while looking over the little ones. The Quiet Cove Pool is for adults only with pleasurable spas and poolside bars.

Disney cruises are certainly hard to forget so you should not get off the ship without spending some time in the Disney merchandise shops. Aside from all the pictures, these goodies are not only great memorabilia but more than enough physical evidence of the good times that were had.

The earlier, the better - this is the motto to follow when booking for your Disney cruise. Advanced booking is almost like getting a discount because it gives access to excellent staterooms during peak holiday seasons. So if you are planning on cruise on a summer, spring break, and the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, reserving way in advance will be to your advantage. You cannot wait for the last minute, as this will mean paying the highest prices.

At other months though, including January, May, September, and October, one can place a booking for less than 6 months in advance and nevertheless get great accommodations. The Magical Rates List has more specific details about some good deals and months for you. For instance, a 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on April 25, 2009 is worth 9 aboard the Disney Magic. So book that cruise online now or with your travel agent, get a onboard credit, and make your cruise dreams come true.

It's Addictive - Trading Disney Lanyard Pins

Disney lanyard pins are all the rage with those who love Disney. Or love collecting. Or both. Pin trading is an enjoyable hobby that's even more fun when you realize that once at Disney, you can trade them with cast members!

disney costumes

But trading Disney lanyard pins does have an etiquette, although it's pretty relaxed. And here's what you need to know before you go to Disney and start your trading!

DISNEY

First -- What is a Disney Lanyard Pin?

Maybe you've never been to Disneyland or Disney World. Or maybe you've been a zillion times but have never noticed people walking around with lanyards around their necks, sporting pins of all sizes, shapes and colors. Either way, here's a quick overview.

Disney Pin trading has been around several years, and it involves purchasing a lanyard (or lanyards) of your favorite theme park and adding pins to it. The pins are of various Disney characters, old and new. They are generally pretty small, like the size of a lapel pin.

Some are rare and quite collectible. Others are fairly common and inexpensive -- great for starting your Disney pin collection.

If you've not experienced the thrill of the hunt yet, Disney pin trading is not only fun...but very addictive!

Trading Disney Pins

Once you're at Disney, you can trade pins with any cast member who is wearing a lanyard and pins. Here is some of the etiquette for trading Disney lanyard pins with a cast member:

There is a limit for trading with an specific cast member -- only two pins per day. However, you can trade with as many cast members per day as you wish! The pin on your lanyard that you want to trade has to be an authentic Disney pin -- you can't trade knock-offs with a Disney cast member. The cast member can only trade for a pin that's not already on their lanyard. So if you have a Pirate Mickey Mouse pin and the cast member already has this pin on his or her lanyard, you can't trade that particular pin. Don't touch or grab a cast member's lanyard. Ask if you can see something closer and they will hold out the lanyard for you

You can also trade with other Disney guests, but remember, Disney guests are not obligated to trade their pins with you.

How To Get A Disney Channel Acting Audition

Kids all over the country dream of making it big in show business. While acting jobs can be hard to land, it is possible to break into this difficult field by answering a call for a Disney Channel acting audition. Many of today's hottest young entertainers got their start from a Disney Channel acting audition. Though there are sometimes hundreds, or even thousands of people competing for just a few spots, this has been the big break that boosted the career of many performers.

disney channel

The easiest way to land a Disney Channel acting audition is through an agent. They are made aware of current calls and will have the specifics of the open roles available. It is much easier for inexperienced actors and actresses to get themselves noticed by using an agent than attempting to land these highly sought after roles on their own. While there are ways of getting a Disney Channel acting audition on your own, this is the simplest route.

DISNEY

A great resource that will allow you an inside look at a Disney Channel acting audition listing is the Disney website at http://corporate.disney.go.com/auditions/. Their corporate section has a special page that will let the public know about any open auditions, casting calls, or extras opportunities. While this may not get you the scoop on every Disney Channel acting audition, it can be a foot in the door if you do not have an agent. Check this page regularly to see what auditions are being offered nearest you.

Though winning a part through a Disney Channel acting audition can be difficult, with hard work it is possible. Just take a look at all of the big name celebrities who have become hugely successful after a start on the Disney Channel. Who knows, maybe you could be the next huge success!

Disney World in Winter: 10 Wonderful Reasons to Visit the Walt Disney World Resort This Winter

Are you looking for that perfect getaway this winter? Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida may just be your ticket. Here are my top 10 "hot tips" for warming up with Mickey this winter.

disney princess

1. Value Season Rates. Keep your wallet warm with rock-bottom prices at Disney resort hotels from early January through mid-February, which is also a period of lower attendance (and fewer crowds).

DISNEY

2. Year of a Million Dreams Celebration. Come celebrate latest hoopla, see new attractions like "Finding Nemo--The Musical" and Laugh Floor Comedy Club, and maybe even win one of the million "dreams" that Disney is awarding.

3. Golf! Enjoy Walt Disney World's 99 holes of championship golf. Greens fees include transportation to and from your Disney resort. Or try your hand at miniature golf at Disney's Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens, each with two 18-hole courses.

4. Disney's free, on-site transportation. Once you've checked into your Disney resort (or campsite), buses, boats and monorails can take you anywhere you want to go on Disney property.

5. The kids (and grandkids). Few places better than Walt Disney World for family togetherness and warm smiles.

6. Annual Pass and AAA Discounts. These hot, money-saving deals are more widely available in this year of decreased travel, even for Peak Season vacationers.

7. Winter cruise discounts. This is usually a great time to sail -- prices are lower and the risk of bad weather is minimal. Why not add a tropical Disney cruise onto your winter Disney vacation?

8. Gas. Prices are gradually coming down.

9. Disney's own Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. One of America's top-rated campgrounds is just across the water from Disney's Magic Kingdom. Location, location, location.

10. It just feels great! Few destinations are cleaner, friendlier, or safer than Walt Disney World. Be prepared to leave your frown (and worries) at the door.

Affordable Disney World - Seven Secrets To Save On A Disney World Vacation

A Disney World vacation can be an expensive trip of a lifetime. There are some very easy ways that you can save hundreds of dollars on your next Disney World vacation just by using some basic tips. So how can you be the family who gets better value out of their vacation? How can you avoid the mistakes that most Disney vacationers make?

disney dvd

1. Buy the Right Ticket

DISNEY

There are so many combinations of Disney World tickets available. This is the one area that people have told me time after time that they find the most confusing. You spend hours of research just working out what all the options mean, and then you have to start searching for the best place to buy. If you take some time to understand all the options available you can save yourself hundreds of dollars.

2. Choose the Right Place to Stay

The Disney World hotels are great places to stay - but they can be expensive.

You can save hundreds of dollars and have a great Disney World vacation by staying in a Florida vacation rental home. Why would you want to stay in a small hotel room when you can stay in a beautiful resort Florida vacation rental home close to the Disney parks? Most homes are within 10 or 15 minutes of all the theme parks - so just the same and sometimes closer than the hotels. Plus you will get so much space for you and your family.

Most Florida vacation rental homes have a private swimming pool. Imagine coming home from the parks and relaxing in your own private swimming pool and spa. Many villas are beautifully maintained and are used by the owners as their second home.

3. Get the Right Price for a Flight

Searching for flights can be time consuming and complex. There are many choices which you need to make - which airline, date, route, schedule, and place to book. Explore the options that you have for traveling from a smaller, local airport, and always search different days and times so that you can see the best prices if you are able to be flexible. Take some time to search online to get an idea of the routes available. Many sites allow you to search different dates and airports and then show you the best prices.

4. Save Money on Food

Eating out is a major item on your Disney World vacation budget. There are so many dining opportunities . You can save hundreds of dollars on your dining out budget just by taking a few simple steps. Plan your dining, look out for dining with 'kids eat free' options, use coupons. Staying in a Florida vacation home will save you money on food. Even if you just have one breakfast at the house you will make savings.

5. Do Something For Free

There are free things to do at Disney! You just have to know where to find them. Take a free Disney hotel tour, visit Celebration, take a Disney boat, visit the Boardwalk. These are just a few ideas of things to do which cost you nothing.

6. Avoid the Scams

Unfortunately there are a number of well known scams out there and most of these relate to tickets. You see the line '2 Disney tickets for '. Is it a scam?

A lot of the very discounted ticket deals are related to time share selling. You will be offered a discounted or free ticket in exchange for your 'time' in attending a time share presentation. I feel that my time is worth much more than attending a time share presentation and potentially being subjected to some high pressure sales techniques. I would rather spend my time finding out how to save money. Only buy tickets from Disney or their authorized agents.

7. Time is Money

This well known phrase holds so true for your Walt Disney World vacation. It is no use having an affordable Disney World vacation if you then are too exhausted to enjoy it. Just take some time in planning before you go. If you are familiar with the basic ideas of the layout of the parks and what rides you may want to see when you get there, you are going to have a much more enjoyable vacation.

So now you have the money saving secrets to enjoy a fabulous Disney World family vacation.

Disney Jobs - Don't Overlook Summer Internships With Disney

Disney offers a paid internship program for college students at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney Resort in the Orlando, Florida, area. Candidates interested in applying for the Disney College Program can apply online. The program is open to both U.S. residents and applicants from outside the United States.

disney princess

This program operates during the school year; the Disney College Program is not available during summer months only. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have an unrestricted work authorization.

DISNEY

The Disney College Program is open to students studying any major. If a person accepted into the College Program is receiving financial aid, they will need to consult with advisors at their school to find out what effect the paid internship will have on the level of assistance they can receive.

Disney staff conducts presentations at schools in California and Florida each spring and fall. Prospective interns have the opportunity to view a presentation designed to provide more detailed information about the program. Interviews can be conducted immediately or a short time after the presentation, either by phone or in person.

In addition to working at a Disney resort, College Program interns also have the opportunity to take courses for both personal and professional development. Interns are hired to work in food service, guest accommodations, stores, attractions, and other employment roles.

A person accepted into the College Program can customize their experience working at Disney to reflect their learning goals and interests. Disney consults with the intern's school to try to determine how the intern can get college credit for participating in the Program.

Senior Disney employees share their work experience to help the intern gain an appreciation for career paths available at the company. Computers, books, and videos are also made available to the student as part of the learning process.

Professional internships are offered to recent college graduates as well. Being accepted to this program offers some definite perks, including discounts on food and beverages, free admission to Disney theme parks, and invitations to staff social events. People who are interested in being considered for one of these opportunities can apply online through the Walt Disney website.

An example of one of the professional internships offered by Disney is the Operations Management Training Program. This is a full time, paid internship that includes training in leadership skills, project management, and business operations. The intern will have on the job training as well as classroom instruction.

The Program starts in January each year; applications are accepted in September for the following January. To be eligible, applicants must have completed a four-year program offered by a college or university within the previous 10 months. A person who has accepted a job with Disney is not eligible to participate in the Professional Intern Program.

Due to the nature of Disney resort's business, preference is given to applicants who have successfully completed programs in Travel and Tourism, Leisure Studies, Communications, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or Retail/Merchandise Management.

A Professional Intern will be working in the program for a period of between five and seven months. They will need to find their own accommodation while participating in the program, and must have a reliable vehicle to drive to and from work.

If working in the hospitality industry is of interest to you, you may want to consider applying for a paid internship position at Disney. It's a great way to get some practical experience in your area of study, and you will have the opportunity to show the management at the company that you are an excellent candidate for a full-time Disney job.

Disney Jobs - Don't Overlook Summer Internships With Disney

Theme park jobs, especially Disney employment, are coveted by many people, especially college students and recent grads. Among the most sought after positions are Disney Imagineering jobs and summer jobs and internships with theme parks.
